Are you Committed To Studying & Growing In The Knowledge of Our Lord?

God loved us SO much that He gave His only begotten Son (John 3:16). Jesus Christ died that we might be saved from our sins (Matt. 1:21). The gospel is the power of God unto salvation (Rom. 1:16). Man must obey the will of the Father to inherit the kingdom of heaven (Matt. 7:21). Thus, it is essential that we STUDY that we may KNOW the Truth that has the power to save us (John 17:17; 8:32).

We are admonished to “Study” to be “approved unto God’ (II Tim. 2:15). It is vital that we follow the Bereans’ example as they “searched the scriptures daily…” (Acts 17:11). The apostle Paul instructed all to “Prove all things;…” (I Thess.5:21). We are to “grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord” (II Peter 3:18). The Hebrew writer expressed the need to grow “full age” and thus able to receive “strong meat” and not remain a babe in need of milk (Heb. 5:12-14). We must diligently pursue knowledge of God’s Word, and follow that way to escape hell (Hosea 4:6).

The urgent need to study the Scriptures is further demonstrated when we acknowledge that all things taught in the name of religion are NOT true and right, thus, we must “try the spirits” to see if they are of God (I John 4:1). Our Lord stated clearly that “in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men” (Matt. 15:9), and that “Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up” (Matt. 15:13).

We must stand in the “old paths” (Jer. 6:16); remove not the “ancient landmarks’ (Prov. 22:28); follow God’s instruction “as it is written” (II Chron. 30:5); follow the strait and narrow way (Matt. 7:13- 14) that leads to heaven. Paul Sain, Jan. 1991
