DOTS are a favorite candy for many children and adults alike. They are a fruity, gummy type of candy that are enjoyed throughout the year. Two weeks ago a counselor at Horizons was preparing to share DOTS with her campers throughout the week. She had taken the candy DOTS and made a spiritual application that I would like to share with you.
“DOTS” – Depend On The Savior
This short phrase was going to be Mykal Daniels message to her campers at Horizons. She was going to express to her campers our need to “Depend On The Savior.” Sadly, Mykal Daniels passed away in route to Horizons on Sat. July 4th in a car accident. Ms. Daniels was a counselor for 15 years at Horizons. She was dearly loved and will be tremendously missed. But her legacy will always remain. Her legacy of love, service, dedication, and dependance on the Savior.
We need to always “Depend On The Savior.” No matter the situation, circumstance, event, or time, our trust should always be with the Lord.
Jeremiah 17:7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD.
Isaiah 26:4 Trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.
Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.
So, the next time you see a package of DOTS candy, remember “Depend On The Savior.” Live your life each and everyday placing all your trust in Him.
