This past February marked the two-year anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
In spite of being outnumbered & out-gunned, the Ukrainian forces continue to fight the invaders to a current stalemate.
Prior to the invasion two years ago, the Russian officers were told to pack their dress uniforms & medals in anticipation of their easy, quick, and certain victory. They were actually planning the celebration they would have in the Ukrainian capital! Boy, were they wrong.
The Ukrainian army & people would not be defeated so easily. Thanks to their commitment to each other and to their cause, they would not roll over and give up.
May we be so committed to the cause of Christ. May we be so committed to the Lord and His Kingdom that we will not give in to Satan’s attacks either. In his arrogance, the devil thinks we will be easy to destroy (similarly to how the Russians viewed the Ukrainian people). The devil says, “Just take some things away from them, make life a little difficult for them, and they will give up on God!” (cf. Job 1:11; 2:5).
Let us not grow weary! (Gal. 6:9; 2 Thess. 3:13)
Let us not give up! (Heb. 12:1-6)
