Someone once said: “The key to everything is patience. You get the chicken by hatching the egg, not smashing it.”
So many aspects of our lives are disrupted and destroyed due to impatience.
We grow weary of waiting, smash the egg, and then complain that we have no baby chickens.
Consider a couple of biblical passages about the necessity of patience:
“Whoever is slow to anger (the patient person) is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.” (Prov. 16:32)
“Whoever is slow to anger (the patient person) has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.” (Prov. 14:29)
“Love is patient and kind…” (1 Cor. 13:4)
Obviously, we are facing unusual times. Let’s be patient with each other.
School administrators and teachers are doing their very best for our children. Let’s be patient.
The pandemic may have you confined to your house, you are working from home, not used to being around your family this much. Let’s be patient.
Our shepherds at South Green are exploring every option to ensure that we remain safe (both spiritually and physically). Let’s be patient.
The sad irony is that so many of us are upset that we don’t have any baby chicks…but we are the very ones who could not be bothered to wait for them to hatch. From holding baby chicks to living the good life, the key is patience
