“You are preparing those in the cradle for the storms of life.” ~Michael Whitworth
As we wind down another education rotation, I am reminded of the importance of Bible Class as we prepare for the next rotation. It is humbling to see those who teach in our Education program give of their time, self, and resources to help others grow spiritually (Hebrews 5:12-14).
Whether we attend or teach Bible Class, we may wander from time to time, “Is Bible Class important?” Scripture teaches us the way our faith grows is by the Word of God. Romans 10:17 says, So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Bible Class affords both the teacher and the student the opportunity to grow closer to Christ regardless of age. Bible Class allows each one the opportunity to be prepared for and deal with the storms of life:
II Peter 3:18 says but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen. We grow by studying and applying Scripture.
Romans 15:4 says For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. Scripture provides us the peace, patience, and promises of God.
I Peter 2:2-3 says as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious. Challenges are inevitable, growth is optional. Let’s desire to grow closer to Christ. I hope you will consider Bible Class, it’s important.
