This week, we will gather with friends, family, and loved ones to “give thanks” for our blessings, reflect on the past, and remember those who are no longer with us. As we gather, may we continue to be thankful for Jesus Christ. May we be mindful of the sacrifice He made for us, remember our decision to submit our life to Him, and to look towards the future as we seek to follow Him.
I thankful for Jesus because He suffered for Us—Jesus…
· Gave up the glory of Heaven Luke 19:10
· Gave up His divine image Phil. 2:5-7
· Gave up His life John 10:17-19
· Was forsaken by His friends Matt. 26:56
· Was despised & rejected Matt. 27:39-40
· Was betrayed & denied Matt. 27:46
· Was scourged & bore the Cross John 19:1-17
Revelation 21:1-4, tells us because of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, we can have the hope, comfort, and promise of Heaven. Matthew 11:25-30, Jesus tells us all things have been delivered to Him and He will give us rest from our labors. Because of Jesus, we can have all tears wiped away and we can find true rest. It is important to be thankful for Jesus, but it is foremost to be obedient to Him.
