We are excited and thankful for the opportunity to assemble on Sunday mornings for worship (8:30 AM & 10:30 AM-refer to your group schedule for your time slot). This opportunity provides much hope and optimism as we seek to take steps to return to our “normal” weekly assemblies in the future. Let us remember additional opportunities the church has as we seek to expand the borders of God’s Kingdom. One of the many great things about the Lord’s church is even during a worldwide pandemic, the “work” of the church never ceases. In 2008, when our economy took a huge setback, I remember a Minister saying, “Even during challenging economic times, there should never be any unemployed Christians!” We know having the ability to provide for ourselves and family is a must and we must be employed. But, the Minister’s point was this, even when our class & worship schedules may have changed and as our economy struggles, the opportunity to serve in the church, grow closer to Christ, and worship our Lord is ever-present. In relation to what God expects from us as Christian soldiers, we are to:
· Abound in the work of the Lord I Cor. 15:58
· Work urgently in & out of season II Tim. 4:2
· Work Steadfast Phil. 1:27
· Excelling to the best of our ability Matt. 5:20
· Work now, for night is coming John 9:4
· Provoke one another to good work Heb. 10:24-25
· Be prepared to every good work II Tim. 2:21
· Preach the Gospel Mark 16:15-16
· Teach others John 6:45
· Worship God John 4:24
· Seek to please God daily I Thess. 4:11
May we be thankful for the opportunity to work. ~Allen
