In Matthew 8:2, a leper knelt before Jesus and said, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” Jesus responded by saying, “I will; be clean” (Matt. 8:3). Indeed, Jesus was willing to do a great deal. He was willing to leave the glory of Heaven (Phil. 2:6-8). He was willing to be humiliated (Isa. 53:3). He was willing to die in our place (Isa. 53:12).
Now, the question is posed to us: Are we willing?
Are we willing to die to self and live for Him (Matt. 16:24; Gal. 2:20)? Are we willing to love others as ourselves (Matt. 22:39)?“
And let him who is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely” (Rev. 22:17). Are you willing?
